I love learning and I love learning about myself to reach my potential. So I always seek out ways to get more experience that’s not quite mainstream and get more out of life.
I attended many conferences to learn about the topic at hand, to get to know more people with similar interests, to hone the art of networking and to get the once in a lifetime opportunity to listen many inspirational leaders from all walks of life in many industries address keynotes – from leaders of change management consultant groups, to gold mining executives.
Some memorable speakers included Olympic Gold Medalist 2008 Men’s 8 Rowing Kyle Hamilton, Marc Kielburger of Free the Children, and Lieutenant-General Romeo Dallaire from who mediated the Rwandan conflict.
A selection of conferences I’ve attended:
• National Business School Conference (NBSC)
• University of Victoria Leadership Conference (UVLC)
• Jeux Du Commerce West Business Case Competition (JDC West)
• University of Victoria Workplace Skills Conference
• West Coast Leadership Retreat (WCLR)
• British Columbia University Model Parliament (BC UMP)
Some personal development workshops I’ve attended to learn more about myself includes:
• Lifepilot
• Passion and Purpose
