Portfolio | JDC West

During 2009 and 2010 I was involved in JDC West. It is Canada’s largest undergraduate business case competition which spans over three days and has over 600 delegates participating from 11 of Canada’s top tier university business schools to compete to be the best of the best. Over three days, each school competes for school spirit, parliamentary debate, sports and academic studies in traditional business disciplines such as Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Strategy, Marketing and so on. The work hard play hard nature of the competition results in a complete satiation of a competitive business student’s desire for hardcore competition, meeting lifelong friends and creating lasting memories. It is the perfect blend of perseverance, dedication and harmonious teamwork.

In 2009 I was selected to be part of the Parliamentary Debate team for Gustavson Business in which we made it to the quarter finals. In 2010, I was again selected to be part of Gustavson’s team, this time for Management Information Systems and closed a third place finish.

Key takeaways – networking, delivering results under extreme pressure, keeping positive upbeat attitude under duress
