This is actually the 3rd version of the felixchen.com and still is a work in progress. I’ve come a long way in designing this site. Version 1 included me actually painting the bamboo from what I learned in Japan, and cleaning it up in Photoshop. I then coded the entire website with straight up CSS/HTML. It was a little while later where I learned about CMS to organize everything instead of doing it old school.
I decided to go to Squarespace to host Version 2. Sadly – I have no screenshots of it. It was pretty neat to do everything in a contained CMS and have everything taken care of very seamlessly though. Cons were that it was too expensive to host just a personal site for what they charged.
I then decided to self host it with WordPress which is what you see right now.
