One of my favourite TED Talks
Reddit.com – Reddit delivers the goods. I’m a social news junkie and this site has a technology and science bias which excite me. I love all the new content produced 24/7. Customize and add your own sub-reddits for maximum effect.
Ted.com – World Class keynotes on Technology, Engineering and Design for free? The scope of the site far exceeds the original TED, but the message stays the same – driving innovation and being idealistic for a better world. It is food for thought at its finest. What’s not to like?
Springwise.com – My daily hit of entrepreneurial ideas. Think different and take advantage of opportunities and ideas that arise all around you.
Artofmanliness.com – forget junk glossy ‘mens’ magazines that tell you what to do and how to do it. Learn from exceptional leaders such as Aristotle, Abraham Lincoln, Rudyard Kipling, and Theodore Roosevelt. Explore the lost world of yesteryear on reading the classics, master rhetoric, dive into the culinary world, gain inspiration and motivation by reading the ‘manvotionals’. Become a better man.
Crossfitzone.ca (my local ‘box’) Crossfit.com and Journal.crossfit.com – I can’t remember the last time I bench pressed anything ‘in real life’. However, I do remember dashing for the bus with my heavy backpack, overhead pressing my luggage into the carry-on compartment in the airplanes, and sumo-deadlift-high pulling my 20kg suitcase up four flights of stairs in crowded metro stations across the world though. The crossfit methodology is at the cutting edge of fitness methodologies for functional fitness. There’s a reason why Special Forces, military, Mixed Martial Artists, and elite athletes use the methods as their preferred training practices to use in the real world. Use your body as the lab, dive into gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, high intensity interval training, rowing, tire flipping and many more. A heightened, sharpened mindset and a beautifully capable body are the by-products of Crossfit training.
